Red Light Therapy

Red Light Therapy

Red light therapy is also known as photobiomodulation (PBM) or low level laser therapy (LLLT). It uses red light waves between 600-700nm that only penetrate the skin slightly. This therapy may offer benefits for skin texture and tone, smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, promote collagen production, reduce inflammation in cells, improve psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, acne, and generally rejuvenate the appearance of skin and hair. The client will use our Vitality Booth, which incorporates red light therapy, salt therapy, or both at the same time. Our powerful MitoMax red light panels are an FDA Registered Class Il medical device.

How Does It Work?

Red light therapy is thought to work by acting on the "power plant" in your body's cells called mitochondria. With more energy, other cells can do their work more efficiently, such as repairing skin, boosting new cell growth, and enhancing skin rejuvenation. More specifically, certain cells absorb light wavelengths and are stimulated to work.

Red light therapy works in skin health to:

  • Stimulate collagen production, which gives skin its structure, strength, and elasticity.
  • Increase fibroblast production, which makes collagen. Collagen is a component of connective tissue that builds skin.
  • Increase blood circulation to the tissue.
  • Reduce inflammation in cells.
